The Love You Give

"Mah-rige it's what bring us toghetha today".... "Love, True Love"..."All you need is Love"...
and it ain't cheap!

One of the doctors at the hospital where I have my J-O-B got hitched and I got an invite to his reception. (Sadly, I was unable to attend because of a HOT DATE with my Hotstuff!

Invitations can cost anywhere from $1.50 to $2.00 per invitation!!!
*that is a true fact for anyone who is purchasing a wedding outside of Utah. If you're purchasing wedding invites in Utah the cost can be .50 to $1.50 per invite! I should know I worked for an invitations company once upon a time.
A lot of money goes into invitations, just for them to be thrown away. The paper, the ribbons and everything fancy schmancy! Those "oh so lovey dovey happy in love" pictures get tossed. Many times the wedding invitation is for that person that isn't your family and you have no real need to keep anything. All that planning and prep for one magical day and and a lot of it ends up in trash cans.
So what do you get the couple who has everything???? This is my wedding gift to Dr. and Mrs. J!

1. The invitation (before)
2. I had a small wood frame that was not painted or decorated. I painted it black, painted a crackle paint over and then a soft antique ivory white over the top. (of course I waited for paint to dry between layers!) I had to hand sand the frame a little bit after it dried to help the "crackle".

3. I tore apart the invitation!
4. The picture was too small for the frame so I took the yellow paper and cut it to fit the frame. I then glued the picture to the yellow paper.

5. The ribbon and black square: I hot glued the ribbon down to the frame and then hot glued the black square. (this is just how I have done this frame, feel free to play with your frame!)

6. The final result!

It is a small enough frame that it can be placed on an office desk, small table or even hung on the wall. It's just a small token of memory...
Congrats Dr. and Mrs. J! Wishing you the very best!
Another Crazy Idea from HONEY: If you're couple is LDS- purchase: a double frame (or a frame of your choice) and a copy of The Proclamation to the Family. On one side place the invitation/picture and the other The Proclamation.
